The cup and the cross
What are these things to me?
Why should I worship a piece of metal?
Why should I listen to a charlatan?
A land of "can't's" and "no's"
How small and weak
Unable to embrace the world
Kiss it, love it
"Yes" is the word they fear
"Yes" takes control from them
They dread being powerless
Wrinkled old men without a life's purpose
How sinister is their uselessness
Especially to themselves
What are the cup and cross but those who wield them?
Terrible in their damnable wrath
But insidiously genial in their quest for converts
Slimy like the serpents they preach against
Ridiculous in their pomp and circumstance
Old fools with dreams long dead like their prophets
And yet, for all these things, I am the evil
I am the heathen
I am the witch
But I have something they will never attain
Pride
Love
And above all, my freedom from meaningless zeal
I wrote this one day after being gravely insulted by one of my classmates.

Appreciate your thoughts on Christianity from your perspective.

I am saddened that so many abuse the name of our Lord by calling themselves Christians and then behaving like demons. They are the most evil people on the world, and they will give an account and face a much more horrifying judgment than even overt satan-worshippers.

If I may point out that those whom you speak of, while they may represent Christianity to unbelievers, are the farthest thing from Christians and from Christ:

- true Christians do not worship pieces of metal. They don't rub wax crosses or play with beads or cry while rubbing the wooden toe of a carving of "Jesus." This is sick trinketry and false idols. This more resembles magic charms and other occult-type practices. God is spirit, and must be worshiped in spirit and in truth.

- "Christians" who live by "can'ts" and "nos" are Arminian/Pelagian heretics. A reborn Christian has new appetites and demonstrates behaviors different than the world because of this new appetite. They do what they LOVE to do, rather than what they feel "obliged" to do in service to God.

- Christ embraced and loved the world and all people in it. So-called Christians who don't do this, are surely not students of Christ! Jesus sat and ate with prostitutes and sinners-- this was one of the primary accusations of the "religious" leaders of the time. While He discerned "wrong" behavior, He did NOT refuse to unconditionally love even those engaged in it. He demonstrated love and mercy on the woman caught in adultery-- the religious people wanted to have her stoned, but His response caused them to leave red-faced. He did not neglect to admonish this woman, as part of His love for her, but He boldly stated that He did not condemn her. She had never experienced such love from any religious person. When a wretch like me feels this sort of love, I cannot help but love Him!

- True Christians confess that they are powerless and depraved-- they "lean not on their own understanding," but joyfully place their confidence and trust in the LORD. They despise their own attempts and desires to "control."

- True Christians have an overwhelming purpose in life-- to glorify the only One worthy of glory.

- True Christians do not wield the cross as a weapon, but rather as a hand held out in mercy and all hope. They know it as their own salvation and desire the same for others, rather than despising others for not having received it and hating them for what they themselves were and are!!!

- As you state, the foolish "Christian" has only a deceitful version of geniality, and is full of wrath and some idiotic notion of "converting" people. It is impossible for them to convert people-- that is the work of God-- and they blaspheme God by even presuming to have that power, and much more by making it some kind of competition amongst themselves. They are a shame, and naturally repulsive to the very people they seek to "convert" and pretend to love.

- "Slimy like the serpents they preach against"-- I like that one. There is a very special place reserved in hell for the false prophets. Perhaps they haven't found those passages in the Bible they pack around and spew from.

- The prophets are not dead-- Elijah and Moses met with Jesus on the mountain. The prophecies have almost all been fulfilled, most of them fulfilled during our Lord's life, death, and ascension to His throne as King of kings. The Jews are a pathetic tribe, constantly persecuted and murdered, yet they are the only tribe who has survived thousands of years and even re-established their nation Israel in the very same soil it once was. This is unthinkable and unheard of, yet the prophets foretold it. Iran and Russia are currently allied against Israel, as prophesied by Ezekiel in his book, chapters 37-39. Yet the greatest prophecies were "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," as spoken by John Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth. These prophecies await fulfillment.

- True Christians confess themselves as wicked long before they would accuse you or another "heathen." Apostle Paul stated that in his human flesh there was "no good thing." A Christian who cannot see his fallen condition, nor his need of a Savior, is no Christian at all. Jesus said He came for the sinners, not for the "righteous"! This hypocrisy and self-righteousness is insane, and was expressly condemned by the One they call "Lord, Lord." It will be better in the day of judgment for witches, than it will be for them.

And for my curiosity, what is your definition of the "pride" and "love" that you have attained?

Kind regards,
Jonas
